Viridis Laboratories welcomes additional scientist to Lansing team

Highly trained Viridis scientists use expertise, technology to perform highquality cannabis testing

LANSING, Mich. — Viridis Laboratories, the leading provider of cannabis safety and quality testing in Michigan, announced it has hired an additional scientist at its Lansing location. Scientist David Walls brings years of experience in organic chemistry, data collection and laboratory procedures. At Viridis, Walls is responsible for the thorough testing of cannabis samples, which is crucial to promoting the health and safety of cannabis consumers.

“Scientists on our staff play a key role in performing cutting-edge accurate testing that helps cannabis businesses provide high-quality and safe products to Michigan consumers,” said Greg Michaud, CEO at Viridis. “By bringing in experienced scientists who prioritize health, safety and accuracy, Viridis provides consumers with unmatched confidence.”

Walls most recently worked as a chemist for Lansing-based Neogen Corp., where he prepared samples for data analysis and developed laboratory materials for both internal and consumer use. He also oversaw student laboratory projects as a teaching assistant for general and organic chemistry courses at Michigan State University. Walls earned his bachelor of science in chemistry in 2017 and a master of chemistry in 2019, both from MSU.

Walls’ background in organic chemistry laboratory work and data collection and analysis serves as an asset to Viridis as its teams use the latest scientific methods to provide detailed profiles of cannabis products.

“Accurate, rigorous testing is critical to help our clients provide safe and effective cannabis products for both patients and adult-use consumers,” said Dr. Michele Glinn, chief science officer at Viridis. “Our esteemed scientists like Walls perform integral testing to help cannabis businesses sell products that have consistent composition and potency and are free of harmful chemicals, toxins, and foreign matter.”

Viridis employs 40 highly trained scientists, technicians and support staff members at its Bay City and Lansing labs. #
